Update: Little River and Grover

Little River is going home!!  After spending almost 11 months in the SC Sea Turtle Hospital, Little River will be released On April 29th.   This little guy will be handicapped after losing part of it's front flipper to a boat strike.  We wish her well.  More information on Little River and her release can be found at the SC Sea Turtle Hospital web site:   http://scaquarium.org/STR/hospital/default.aspx  or the SC Sea Turtle Bog:   http://networkedblogs.com/wHZUS?a=share

Grover, the little green sea turtle rescued out of the marsh in Cherry Grove on March 17th is doing well.  Grover could hardly keep her head above water when first admitted to the SC Sea Turtle Hospital.  Now she is swimming and eating.  As of April 13th, her system was still a little out of balance, once her readings are normal, she will be placed in a fresh water bath which will cause all of her huge barnacles to fall off.

What a beautiful little turtle!!

Four different types of Sea Turtles are found off the SC Coast.  Sam is about 4 feet tall.  Most adult sea turtles are larger than he is!!

Eclipse is a loggerhead/green hybrid sea turtle currently in the SC Sea Turtle Hospital.  She will be released on April 29th along with Little River.  Here she is eating a frozen fish pop.  Sam took this picture on April 13th.
