South Carolina United Turtle Enthusiasts  (S.C.U.T.E.)


A group of volunteers dedicated to Sea Turtle Conservation in Horry and Georgetown Counties of South Carolina


S.C.U.T.E  is permitted by the S.C, Department of Natural Resources to protect and if necessary, relocate turtle nests.  S.C.U.T.E also records Sea Turtle Deaths through the Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Network.


S.C.U.T.E was organized in 1990 and on the average records over 100 loggerhead nests with more than 12,000 eggs along the Horry-Georgetown Beaches.  


The North Myrtle Beach Sea Turtle Patrol is proud to be working under S.C.U.T.E.'s nesting and stranding permits from the SCDNR.
