Inventory results of protected endangered Sea Turtle Nest # 4

Setting up for inventory, one is never too young to learn and help out.

 Many are interested and anxiously waiting to see what the results of this nest will be.  The NMB STP patrol Volunteers will talk with many new faces all young and old, sharing their passion and love of the Endangered Sea Turtle species.

In this nest there were 9 live Hatchlings found that were not able to make it out on their own. Everyone will be able to look at some of the hatchlings and an egg that did not hatch, while the inventory is completed.  once the inventory is complete the hatchlings will all be released on the beach to start their incredible journey into the future.

the Inventory results will be shared with all.  This information will be entered into a national data base to help gather more information about the endangered Sea Turtle species.

All are also welcome to look at the egg chamber that the eggs incubated in. All are welcome to look at the eggshells and also see what unhatched eggs look like.

                                    

Inventory is completed; the Hatchlings will be released on the beach to start their journey of life. Will one or more of these Hatchlings make it to a full life cycle? While we do not know for sure, the vision and hopes that they may are all we can hope for.

All Sea Turtles are endangered, they are federally, and state protected.  Special training, guidelines and hermits are required to work with Nesting Se Turtles, Nest, Hatchling and stranded Sea Turtles.
