EXCITING NEWS ON BRIARCLIFFE !!!!!!! THEY HAVE THE 1st NEST OF THE SEASON MAY 31st

WHILE NMB STP BRIARCLIFFE TUESDAY WALKERS ARE OUT WALKING AT SUNRISE ON

 THIS BEAUTIFUL TUESDAY MORNING LOOKING FOR ANY POTENTIAL SEA TURTLE

 CRAWLS OR BODY PITS. WHAT AN EXCITING DAY, THEY COME UPON A NICE CRAWL.



CLAIRE AND BOB HAVE FOUND A CRAWL

NMB STP VOLUNTEERS CINDY, CHERI AND LINDA SOON ARRIVE




 YES A NICE BODY PIT!!!




CHERI PROBED AND FOUND THE NEST!
CLAIRE CAREFULLY DUG DOWN TO THE NEST
AND YES EGGS ARE FOUND





This Sea Turtle has found the perfect spot to nest, Briarcliffe is a beautiful quiet
 beach with no lights shining on the beach.  This nest will stay as it is, in situ. One
  egg was taken for DNA testing. The Poles are put around the nest and marked.




SO MANY THANKS TO ALL OF THE BRIARCLIFFE PATROL AND ALLWHO OUT WALKING EVERY MORNING. THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SEA TURTLE SPECIES.



ALL SEA TURTLES ARE FEDERALLY AND STATE PROTECTED, SPECIAL TRAINING, GUIDLINES AND PERMITS ARE NEEDED TO WORK WITH SEA TURTLES, THE NEST, EGGS AND STRANDINGS.
