BUSY DAY FOR THE NMB STP TODAY, SEA TURTLE STRANDING #6 and 7 May 29th

After protecting an early morning nest by NMB STP Volunteers a late morning call came into NMB STP Hotline by DNR about a deceased Sea Turtle stranding. Many calls are made between Linda, DNR and this nice couple that discovered this Sea Turtle.

Not an easy stranding, as this stranding is not assessable by land, only by boat. The nice couple finding this stranding is very willing and want to help in any way they can.  A little bit of a wait, they are able to retrieve this juvenile Green Sea Turtle and bring it to the Cherry grove boat ramp. Many thanks to this couple.

As all Sea Turtles are Federally and State protected, special handling and documentation are needed
Linda will document any visual abnormalities, location found , take measurement and gather as much information as she can.

Linda is able to determine this sea Turtle has passed away a short time before being found. Its determined that DNR will do a Necropsy. This Green Sea Turtle Is packed in ice and Chris meets DNR to transfer this turtle to them.

Before DNR has even received this Green Sea Turtle on the way, another call comes in  from NMB Ocean Rescue a small juvenile stranding. Linda is on her way. unfortunately this stranding has passed away also.

Pictures are taken, Measurements are taken, location and documentation on any visual abnormality
