Inventory Briarcliffe Nest #5

Briarcliffe Nest #5 was an in situ nest, mother chose to go up on the dune and lay this nest in a great spot.  1 egg taken for DNA, egg cavity quickly closed and protected.


51 days later, hatchlings emerge.   



Inventory is conducted 4 days later.






One lone hatchling is found in the egg chamber, 
released on the beach to begin it's jounrey



 

Soon, only tracks are left 

 


Inventory results:

Nest laid on July 8

Hatchlings emerge on August 28, 51 days later

83 hatched shells
8 whole eggs, collapsed and discolored
0 dead hatchlings
1 live hatchling

91.2% hatchling success rate
