April- Outreach

As spring approaches, demand for information on the Sea Turtles increases.  Mary, Corrina and other NMB STP volunteers are very busy with school and group presentations.

On April 8th, Corrina, Karen, Maddy and Linda talked with Horry County kindergarten and first grade students at the Playcard Environmental Center' Baby Animal Day.   Over 700 students enjoyed a beautiful spring day, learning about nature and baby Animals.   Goats, ducks, plow horse and other horses, snakes, coyotes, bears, alligators and of course TURTLES.   Both Sea Turtles and those found on land, in swamps and ponds.   Corrina and Karen gave excellent talks about the sea turtles as individual classes came to our exhibit.  Caretta, (Maddy), the NMB Mascot left the wet ocean for a day on land.  Many shouts of "Look at that BIG turtle" as well as many hugs.

Horry County Schools are so lucky to have this great educational facility.

Thank you Corrina, Karen and Maddy.  A Fun Day.

Then off to Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach to help celebrate Earth Day.  This time our exhibit focused on Sea Turtles, the Oceans and how everyone can help protect both.

Wonderful Day...Thank you all.
