Turtle Rescue

Call came in late in the afternoon.  Small turtle in trouble, rolling around in the surf.  Quick trip to the beach and the turtle was quickly found, half buried in the sand, just at the water line.  But.....

was not a sea turtle.  OUCH!!!  It was a good size snapping turtle. I would hate to have stepped on it in the water.  Very feisty,  the turtle was carefully approached from behind.  This turtle did not want to be handled and showed his displeasure often.

The turtle was removed from the beach and taken to fresh water.  Hope he enjoys his new location.
