Friday the 13th Stranding

Friday the 13th turned out to be a busy day for the Sea Turtle Patrol.  A stranding was reported on the Tilghman Beach, around 8th Ave North around 10AM.  Turned out to be a juvenile loggerhead.

This turtle was thought to be alive as it floated in the surf, but once ashore, no pulse could be found.  The eyes were very sunken, many times an indication of death.

Jerry from NMB Animal Control took charge of this stranding.

The turtle was sprayed with orange paint to indicate that it had already been recorded as a stranding and the turtle was disposed of by Animal Control.
