NMB standing #11

A call coming into the NMB STP Hotline during the day at Apache Pier, Turtle in distress, in need of help.  Unfortunately, the Sea Turtle is too far out to be able to bring to shore. Tammy went to check things out and spent allot of the day looking at different places it may have been spotted.

Finally, during the evening it is seen in Myrtle beach, close enough to be brought into the shore.  More NMB STP Volunteers are on the way, but it will still take a while for them to get to this location.  Reports of people still surrounding it. Evening is fast approaching, and more and more people surrounding her.  Thankful for the MB Police and Horry County Police for helping with crowd control and helping to get this Very weak Turtle off the beach.

Thankful for the help in getting this Endangered Sea Turtle off the Beach, and into the quiet Vehicle, to be transported by a NMB STP Permitted Volunteer.

All Sea Turtles are endangered, they are federally, and state protected. Special guidelines, training and permits are required to work with Nesting Sea Turtles, Nest, and Strandings.

If you are in NMB or Briarcliffe areas and encounter a Nesting Sea Turtle, Hatchling or a stranded Sea Turtle please call:
