This Mornings Juvenile Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle was found by the NMB STP Volunteers.  The NMB STP walk the beaches looking for a Sea Turtle Nest or crawl.  They walk 11 Miles of beaches every day during Sea Turtle Nesting Season. If a nest is found, this will be protected by trained and permitted Volunteers, under Strick guidelines as all Sea Turtles are endangered and protected

NMB STP Stranding team responded to the deceased Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle. All Sea turtle strandings, deceased or alive are documented by people who are trained and permitted to work with strandings.  This information is documented in a database so more research and studies can be conducted.  This information will help in the survival of the Sea Turtle Species.

Strand Team and Volunteers Finding this Kemps Ridley

This Kemps will be evaluated, any Abnormalities, tumors, and wounds will be documented.  As this Sea Turtle had not been deceased very long, DNR will necropsy.  This information is invaluable in the conservation and survival of the Sea Turtle species.  The findings will help in knowing what they are eating at certain stages of their lives, are they eating differently depending on time of year.  If a cause of death is determined, this information can help in many ways as determining if we can do anything on our parts to minimize what is happening in out control.  This is just a few examples, as many Important information is gathered and shared.

Measurements will be taken
