MULTIPLE CALLS COMMING INTO THE NMB STP HOTLINE
SEA TURTLE COMMING TO SHORE

All that called the NMB STP hotline are asked to make sure all stay away from her, no touching, no lights, no flash photography. NMB STP volunteers are on the way.

Officer McKinney and Officer Willis with the Horry Beach Patrol are first to arrive as they are patrolling the beaches.

Once there, Horry Beach Patrol Officers McKinney and Officer Willis are able to help educate the bystanders and people coming upon this nesting Sea Turtle as to the importance of no Lights, no flash photography, no one around her and letting her nest in peace. Many thanks to the Horry Beach Patrol.  THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE DIFFERENCE TO THE ENDANGERED SEA TURTLE SPECIES

Soon NMB STP Volunteers are there. Informing and helping to educate and ensuring no one is interfering with this nesting Sea Turtle.  All the bystanders are a great group of people, all very excited, all curious to learn and all very respectful of the importance of letting this mother nest in peace. This is an extra special nest that Tammy and Kathy are able to help out with  as they are the ones who walk this segment of beach every day. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE DIFFERENCE TO THE ENDANGERED SEA TURTLE SPECIES.

AS THIS NEST IS IN AN UNSAFE PART OF THE BEACH, IT IS RELOCATED TO A SAFER LOCATION ON THE BEACH

After dark,  flashlights are used to light up the Body Pit (Nest).  But only after the mother turtle is back in the water.
