Wednesday May 4th NMB STP was called around 5pm about a large Sea Turtle crawling out of the ocean and up above the HTL. When the call came in it was initially thought, must be a standing as it was still daylight, By the time the volunteers arrived on beach, it was apparent she was nesting. What a nice surprise, a Kemps, the most endangered sea turtle. There have been less than 10 Kemps nest documented in the state of SC. What an exciting start for the first nest in NMB

Many thanks to the NMB Beach Patrol for helping NMB Sea Turtle Patrol help to make sure onlookers did not get too close to the nesting turtle so she could successfully nest.
