2015 Outreach

A major part of the Sea Turtle Patrol happens before and after the sea turtle nesting season.  North myrtle Beach has many visitors from all over the country and the world.  Not many people know about one of North Myrtle Beach's major natural resource, the sea turtle.

Many hours are spent developing slide shows, brochures and other material to hand out to our guests as well as local residents.  Whenever asked, NMB STP love to talk about the sea turtles.

The volunteers were invited to talk with the students from the NMB Elementary Day Camp at Ocean Drive Elementary.  Mary, Corrina, Karen and Sherry did a fantastic job!!!!

This past year, Mary, Corrina and Karen talked with several local girls scout and brownie troops.

Ripley's Aquarium also asked the Sea Turtle Patrol to put on exhibits during many of their special events, including "Spirit Nights."   Mary and Corrina organize these events, scheduling  volunteers to help and making sure our exhibits show as much about the sea turtles as possible.

The Local Garden Club invited the NMB STP back again for the 3rd year in a row to talk with the Kindergarten Kids in their "Eco Tot Program."  Mary and Karen did a fantastic job talking with the kids and the Garden Club.

A huge thanks to the NMB STP volunteers who go the extra mile and participate in these outreach programs.

A special thanks to Mary and Corrina!!!
