3rd Annual Little River River Sweep

On Saturday, May 17, a group of NMB Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers participated in the 3rd Annual Little River Riversweep.   A handful Kayaked in Cherry Grove Marsh, picking up plastic bags, bottles, cans and of course fishing line.  A few more either Kayaked to Waties Island to clean up the South end or rode a boat through the Intracoastal to clean up the North End at the Little River Inlet.

After a couple of hours on the water, the Volunteers took their haul back to Johnny Causey Boat Landing

Sculpture made with 2012 trash picked up during 2nd Annual Sweep

A little park was made displaying the trash taken out of the Intracoastal Waterway

This year's sculpture is a pelican

More trash displayed in the park

Caretta, the NMB STP Mascot heard about the sweep and showed up to lend her support

A huge thanks to all who helped with this event
