Little River River Sweep

Several North Myrtle Beach Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers participated in the 2nd Annual Little River River Sweep on April by kayaking through the Cherry Grove Marsh, picking up trash.  Foam blocks, large flower pots and plastic bags were pulled out of the water or off the Marsh Grasses.

Sherry and Caretta early in the morning before the Sweep started in front of the Dolphin.  Dolphin will be filled with trashed picked up during the sweep.

Caretta thanks Officer from Horry County for helping

In the Marsh

Despite the incoming high tide, water was calm and easy to paddle

Getaway Adventures provided free boat ride to the Inlet side of Waties Island...lots of trash cleaned up from the beach

The dolphin is full and over flow trash surround it..tires, foam blocks, crab traps, a chair...

A bowling ball that was rumored to be lost during Hurricane Hazel was found.  That was in 1954!!!
A TV was pulled out of the Intracoastal.

Snookey's in Little River provided hamburgers and hot dogs.

Thank you Captain Smiley for organizing this.

Lots of fun....

Thank you Tedde for your pictures.
