Bulls Island

On March 10th, several North Myrtle beach Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers participated in a Beach Drop on Bull Island. Bull Island, also known as “Bulls Island”, is an undeveloped barrier island within the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. The Island Cat, from Coastal Expeditions, dropped us off on the North Beach.  Some of us spent the day walking this undeveloped beach looking for shells and other sea life.  Some accompanied a Wildlife Naturalist on a walk up the beach and into the Marsh and surrounding woods.  Alligators were plentiful along the wooded paths, Marsh birds were pointed out and the different trees and bushes were pointed out and talked about.  It was cool, but sunny.  A great trip at one of SC greatest resources.
