MEMORIAL DAY STRANDING!!

Around 2PM this afternoon, a loggerhead sea turtle washed up at 13 Ave., South. It was observed moving it's flippers, head and blinking it's eyes while still in the surf, but died shortly after it was brought on shore.

Rob was called by the Beach Patrol. He and Charlotte from NMB Animal Control handled the stranding. The turtle was estimated to be around 100 pounds, no wounds were visible, but it was very emaciated indicating it had been in trouble for a while. Charlotte removed the turtle from the beach for disposal. Linda
