 From the First day of protecting endangered Loggerhead nest # 8


To the inventory day



It all starts out with NMB STP Volunteers Arriving. Soon Many other people, friends, and just people walking the beach soon arrive to see what the inventory is and to see the great results. 
All of the NMB STP are excited as they share information with all that are interested in Knowing more about the endangered Sea Turtle Species.









Soon the beach is full with the NMB STP Volunteers and bystanders all interested to see the results of this protected endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtle nest.  A little bit of information about this nest is shared with all that have come to the inventory






During the inventory there may be a hatchling sometimes more that were unable to make it out of the nest on its own.  All are allowed so see at a safe distance, not flash or touching.  A whole Png pong sized non-viable egg is also shown as many have never seen a Loggerhead Sea Turtle egg










All are welcome to join and look at the empty shells along with the whole that the eggs incubated in.

95% hatch success rate

122 eggs in this nest, 121 relocated. out of the 121 relocated eggs

   115 Hatched eggs
             6 whole unhatched eggs
1 live Hatchling

All Sea Turtles are endangered, they are federally, and state protected. Special guidelines, training and permits are required to work with Nesting Sea Turtles, Nest, Hatchlings and stranded Sea Turtles.
