Now onto inventory of the protected Loggerhead Nest #5

A little about this inventory is shared with all before inventory is started.  

     

There would be 10 Hatchlings in this nest found during inventory.  all will get to see the hatchling along with an unhatched egg.  They will all be released on the beach to start their magnificent  journey into the unknown.

All Hatchlings made the brave leap of faith as they quickly went into the ocean to start their journey

The great results of this inventory

93% hatch rate for relocated eggs

159 eggs, 158 relocated eggs

Of the 158 relocated eggs

147 Hatched

4 whole eggs

7 pipped eggs

            1deceased Hatchling

          10 Live Hatchlings

All Sea Turtles are endangered, they are federally, and state protected.  Special guidelines, training and permits are required to work with Nesting Sea Turtles, Nest, Hatchlings and stranded Sea Turtles.
